Inspiration - Kevin Smith at NAB 2011

Seeing Kevin Smith talk in person this past April is something I would argue as life-changing. And I don't say that about a lot of stuff.

At certain points during the talk I think "jeez o petes, it's like I've known this guy forever". All star-strucked-ness aside.

Ultimately, it's all about doing what you love and doing it for you.

  1. I wouldn't say there is anything wrong with life changing. Honestly does it not always.

I don't think I have to be fan of him to enjoy him personally. But I would say this talk with him is indeed inspiring. In some cases like "Thank God; now I don't have to try so hard".

To me; now at least mostly at this point of my life it is all about doing what I love and doing it for myself and you guys. I don't think I gave much thought about this until much recently in the past couple of years. Being 18-19 years old and jumping right into film school in promises of making it big does not give you much wisdom.

Thankfully I've taken these wrong turns into the right direction. That aside. Yes money and fame would be appreciative and great as in means I don't have to worry about financial turbulence. Fame would get you recognition and credibility. And I have to admit I sometimes get in front of the mirror and imagine myself on the cover of rolling stone or some junk. But thats just for fun. Nothing I take serious.

But to me; having a finished film is much more desirable. Having a film shot in good quality and feeling film like is my goal. From everything. Shots, acting, music, fx, editing. Stuff we already have.

    Thanks for posting this.
