Cool Tools - Inkling by Wacom

This could be one of the best things ever. I've never been a fan of Wacom tablets. The surface never felt quite right, I could never draw a straight line like I could on paper and I could never rotate the canvas like I wanted.

There's so many thing that seem "right" about this device. I can't wait to try one.

  1. I must agree as well. No doubt I will purchase this tiny magic beast.

I have to say; I love the tablets for painting and coloring purposes. I love the freedom and diversity of coloring and image fx tools at my disposal without going to an art supplier and spending money on the accountability I might screw my artwork up. For that I'm glad they exist.

On the other hand; I have to agree when it comes to just plain drawing the tablets are horrendous. Like you and possibly many; I have never gotten the right feel in regards to drawing.

This is something great! I can now draw without scanning and image tweaking. As well as simply uploading to my computer and color away or just store my drawing in a file. Safe away from coffee spills and in my case kids make anything happen.

This would be great for simple sketches, comics, manga, cartoons (I'm also thinking of experimenting animation with this hmm...), storyboards(there we go) and anything.

I will be getting this for sure. All this equals to faster and simple workflow is what I am getting the idea of as well.

  2. I hear what your saying about art supplies. It is kind of nice to have just about everything in front of you without having to deal with the supplies.

But I think I would be much more inclined to draw using the Inkling and then augment or color using a tablet after importing.
